Professional Development Seminar The Strategic Thinking Church Leader: Overcoming Current Challenges Featuring Dr. Eugene Wilson, Dr. Brent Coltharp, Dr Shiloh Andrus, and Dr. Chris Paris. This 8-hour seminar is designed to provide students with an orientation to the current challenges facing the church as well as how to adequately address it. Students will expand their understanding of cultural issues and grow as strategic thinkers, an essential element in developing key strategies in overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities for advancement. Students will also participate in workshop sessions in which tools for strategic thinking will be practiced and plans developed. After attending this seminar, church leaders will be better equipped to participate in leading growth in the 21st century. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2:30PM-6:30PM: Strategic Thinking: What It Is and Why We Need It — (Dr. Eugene Wilson) Biblical Support for Thinking Strategically — (Dr. Chris Paris) Current Issues Impacting the 21st Century Church — (Dr. Shiloh Andrus) Developing a Mindset for Cultural Change — (Dr. Shiloh Andrus) FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2:30PM-6:30PM: The Framework for Strategic Thinking in Planning: Systems Thinking — (Dr. Eugene Wilson) Strategic Thinking Tools #1 — (Dr. Eugene Wilson) Strategic Thinking Tools #2 — (Dr. Eugene Wilson and Dr. Brent Coltharp) Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch: Organizational Culture and Strategic Thinking — (Dr. Brent Coltharp) This Professional Development Seminar will be held during General Conference at the Indianapolis Westin Hotel. This seminar will be held in Room 142. This 8-hour seminar will be split into two days, Wednesday September 25th 2:30pm-6:30pm and Friday September 27th 2:30pm-6:30pm. Registrants must attend both days in order to receive a certificate of completion. Space is limited and registration is limited to the first 90 individuals. Registration ends September 25th, 2019 at 11:59pm. Seating during the seminar is on a first come basis.
