This event is an benefiting the philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Indianapolis. The Assistance League of Indianapolis is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization whose members identify, develop, implement, manage and raise funds for ongoing philanthropic programs to serve the specific needs of children and adults in the greater Indianapolis area. The Philanthropic Programs include:OPERATION SCHOOL BELL - Economically disadvantaged children from five Indianapolis schools are referred by the school personnel to receive new school clothes and warm outerwear; new athletic shoes, hygiene items, school supplies, books and a duffel bag. ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS - Adults and children who are victims of assault, rape, or domestic violence often must surrender their clothing as evidence of a crime. The new warm sweat suits and undergarments that are provided to them offer a way to restore and sense of hope and dignity. ALI FRIENDS - Seniors and disabled adults enjoy the gifts of time and friendships. Our members initiate parties and organize games to help create new memories. ALI BEARS - Traumatized or grieving children, teens, and adults receive cuddly, child-safe teddy bears to provide comfort and a sense of peace.
