Mendell, M.D. The Ohio State University  Nationwide Children’s Hospital                                                Changing the Playing Field for Children with Neuromuscular Disease:   Clinical Gene Therapy for SMA and DMD Dr. Mendell currently is the Founder of the Clinical Translational Gene Therapy Program at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and holds professorships in Neurology, Pediatrics, Pathology, and Physiology and Cell biology at The Ohio State University. He is a Clinician Scientist directing laboratory projects and carrying these to the bedside while at the same time caring for neuromuscular patients in the clinic at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
